Rise Up Tutoring is no longer active. We thank you for understanding!
OUR PURPOSE
Our tutors strive to help students and peers improve and exceed in their studies. Ultimately, as a local San Diego organization, we strive to donate revenue to underprivileged kids through monetary donations, supplies, and books. We believe that education is a right, not a privilege, and we wish to give every child an equal opportunity to learn and grow.
2018-2019 Summary
Rise Up Tutoring was founded in the fall of 2018. Rise Up Tutoring raised a little over $3300 via tutoring services in Carmel Valley over the entire year, using the money to donate toiletries and supplies to Monarch School and dropping them off during October, January, and April.
2019-2020 Summary
For the second year Rise Up Tutoring was active, we raised over $2500. Supplies and toiletries were donated to Monarch School in October of 2019. As we entered 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic occurred, forcing us to put tutoring on pause. Using some of the remaining funds we had combined with generous donations from people in the Carmel Valley community, we raised $2486 dollars via GoFundMe to donate to the UCSD COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund.
2020-2021 Summary
For our final year, Rise Up Tutoring raised $440, donating directly to Monarch School. Unfortunately, as all of our members and leaders have graduated high school and are heading off to new directions and places, we will be unable to continue Rise Up Tutoring. We have learned so much and are so happy to have helped the San Diego community in some way. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank everyone who has supported us. Thank you so much!
MONARCH SCHOOLRise Up Tutoring is partnering with Monarch School, aiming to use revenue raised by tutoring to provide the children at Monarch School with more school supplies, as well as donate items requested by the school in their wish list. Monarch School is located in downtown San Diego and its students are those impacted by homelessness.
